COAL & LIGNITE
Circular Motion Screens are used to segregate various size fractions in coal/ lignite streams. Circular Motion Screens are also used to reduce load on crushers by removing fraction which is already smaller than required size or to recirculate oversize fractions from crushed product stream back to crushers. Possible application is in Mines before dispatch to power plants. Circular Motion Screens are available in 1, 2 and 3 decks to get 2, 3 and 4 size fractions respectively. Each size fraction may be requiring different post processing.
Linear Motion Screens are used in similar situations as above but where the height is limited by surrounding facilities or screening of small fractions and high throughput is required.
As opposed to above two types which are based on bed stratification principle, Roller Screens are based on free fall principle. Roller Screens are used in screening Run of Mine coal/ lignite when feed stream consists of difficult, sticky, clayey, moist materials and would choke and blind the screen apertures of normal screening machines. It is also good for handling feed material containing larger boulders along with smaller particles
Also known as Flip Flo Screen, High Particle Acceleration Screens are ideally suited for screening applications for fine grain size materials (3 mm to 10 mm) with high moisture and screening capacities up to 250 metric TPH. The outer frame is agitated by means of eccentric shaft drive. The vibration is passed on to the inner frame via flexible thrust plates.
Screening mats between the inner and outer frame are clamped and flexed by the two vibrating frames. The relative movement of both screening frames creates a “trampoline effect” in the screen mats to create-
- High acceleration up to 50g in screen mats.
- Loosening-up and de-agglomeration of the product.
Grizzly Feeders /Vibrating Feeders
Grizzly Feeders /Vibrating Feeders are used to reclaim feed stream from storage bins/ hoppers or as a feeding equipment to crusher & screen where the materials are not easy to handle (wet, clayey or lot of ash content), having size fractions ranging from big lumps to significantly high percentage of wet/moist fines and where scalping is also needed.
Motorised Trippers devices are mounted on conveyor belts running on top of long bunkers with several compartments and are used to discharge the material from the conveyor equitably all along the length of the bunker.
Single Roll Crushers are used to crush ROM Coal (1000 mm- 1500 mm size) to (-) 200-300 mm size. In Coal Preparation Plants the coal feed is to be further crushed to (-) 25 mm size by using Toothed Double Roll Crushers. Smooth Double Roll Crushers can be used for crushing up to (-) 5mm.
Rotary Breakers are used to separate hard rock lumps from coal while crushing the ROM size (up to 500 mm) to (125 – 200 mm) in situations where coal’s hardness is significantly lower compared to that of contaminating stones/rocks.
Ring Granulators are special purpose crushers for producing (-) 25 mm granular coal from (-) 300 mm feed, and are commonly used in Coal Handling Plants of Thermal Power Stations in all types of Coal Combustion Systems.
Coal Impactors (EK Series Impactor)
EK series Impactors are used for higher capacities and crushing coal up to (-)6 mm product with control of fines. Coal Impactors (EK Series Impactor) are very good for FBC type Boiler application. Coal Impactors (EK Series Impactor) are also suitable for coal used in Washery and Sponge Iron Plants.

Reciprocating Feeders are used to reclaim coal from surge bins/ bunkers to feed crushers or conveyors typically up to 1000 tph.
Vibrating Screen- Feeders
Vibrating Screen- Feeders are screens entrusted with two tasks; that of feeding to Crushers and of pre-screening or scalping the feed to crushers. Vibrating Screen- Feeders may be of Linear Motion Screen with Geared Exciters or of Twin Eccentric Shaft in Oil Bath type.
In coal/ lignite mines and coal/ lignite handling plants Slurry Pumps are used for dewatering the sump pits. In coal beneficiation plants Slurry Pumps are used in conveying coal slurries from jigs to sieve bends/ dewatering screens or thickeners, flotation equipment and filters.
Thickeners are used in Coal Beneficiation Circuits to dewater/ thicken coal/ reject slurries for further processing use.
Flotation Cells are used to concentrate and separate coal from gangue minerals in some beneficiation circuits for coal.

Skid Mounted Crushing and Screening Plants are semi mobile units to be used when the mine face or pit is continuously shifted and where stationary Coal Crushing Plants would be unsuitable because of long haulage when mine face/pit becomes distant.
Apron Feeders are extensively used to reclaim ROM/ Large Size Coal from Dump Hoppers for primary crushing.
In Coal Handling Plants which are distant from Mines the ROM Coal is brought by rail and unloaded into Hoppers by Wagon Tipplers.
Paddle Feeders are used for continuous reclaiming of coal from long length coal hoppers on to conveyors for further processing.
Bucket Wheel Stacker cum Reclaimers
Bucket Wheel Stacker cum Reclaimers are used in Coal/ Lignite Handling Plants to create large ground stockpiles of coal/ lignite and also to reclaim from the stockpile.
